From Technology Leadership to Procurement Intelligence

From technology leadership to procurement intelligence.
A great day at EVS headquarters in Seraing with the Optiroq team.
We were impressed by the technology environment, the remarkable headquarters and, above all, by what EVS represents: a Belgian technology leader whose solutions support some of the world's most demanding live events — from major international sports competitions to productions around the globe.
It was a pleasure to meet Samuel Merlet, Head of Direct Procurement at EVS, and have an open discussion about the future of procurement.
Our conversation focused on a question that increasingly matters for procurement organizations: how do we move from fragmented information, manual analysis and transactional workload to a connected Procurement Intelligence ecosystem that helps people make better decisions?
At Optiroq, this is the ambition we are building around: Data → Intelligence → Decision → Action → Value → Learning. Connecting supplier information, market signals, cost intelligence, business requirements and procurement expertise — while keeping people at the centre of decisions and accountability.
The objective is not to replace existing systems or procurement professionals. It is to create an intelligence layer around the procurement ecosystem, enabling teams to reduce time spent searching, consolidating and analysing information, and focus more on negotiation, supplier strategy, value creation and business impact.
Our discussion also opened the door to exploring a potential Optiroq × EVS partnership around Procurement Intelligence. The approach is simple: Identify the opportunity → Test → Measure → Learn → Scale.
Thank you Samuel for the warm welcome, the openness and the quality of the discussion. Looking forward to continuing the conversation and exploring what we can build together.
